Opera Users in the U.S. Can Now Purchase Crypto with Apple Pay or Debit Card
The Norwegian company, Opera has announced that it is now enabling its United States users to easily buy cryptocurrencies using a debit card or Apple Pay. This new service is available on Opera’s flagship Android browser, and iOS browser, Opera Touch. It is also allowed in crypto wallet available in its desktop browser.
In December 2019, Opera introduced the first blockchain-enabled browser, Opera for Android, which has in-built crypto wallet and Dapp explorer. It went ahead to add an in-built crypto wallet to its desktop and iOS browser.
Later on, the company introduced easy crypto-purchases in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and now expanding to the United States. Opera claims it is also planning to introduce this service in other countries very soon.
Opera’s move in the U.S. is made possible through a partnership with Wire, a U.S.-based crypto brokerage firm. This partnership will enable Opera users easy and secure crypto-purchases directly from the browser’s crypto wallet. The Android users can do this using a debit card, whereas iOS users can simply do this using the Apple Pay.
Speaking about this integration, Charles Hamel, Head of Crypto at Opera browsers explained how important it is to the users. According to Hamel, enabling users to easily top up crypto into their browser’s digital wallet is very powerful. He claims it connects the Web to a global internet-native payment network.
