Opera Brings Its US Users Options to Buy Crypto via Apple Pay or Debit Card

Opera users residing in the U.S can now buy cryptocurrencies with their debit cards and Apple Pay accounts, the Norwegian company has said.  The users can access the new service on Opera Touch, the firm’s flagship Android and iOS browser. Additionally, the service is available via a crypto wallet embedded in its desktop browser.

Blockchain-enabled Browser

Opera introduced the first Blockchain-enabled browser In December 2019. It features a built-in crypto wallet and Dapp explorer. It later integrated the inbuilt wallet into its desktop and iOS browsers.

After that, the company began easy crypto-purchases in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Now it has expanded its scope to the United States. Additionally, Opera is looking at to exporting the service to other countries soon.

Easy and Secure Purchases

Opera actualized its foray into the U.S. by partnering with Wire, a U.S.-based crypto brokerage firm. Through this relationship, the browser’s users can easily and securely purchase cryptos from the wallet in their browser. Whereas Android users can do so with their debit cards,  iOS users can do the same through Apple Pay.

Charles Hamel, Head of Crypto at Opera browsers explained the importance of the integration to the users. Mr Hamel insists that enabling users to top up their browser’s crypto wallets is very powerful as it links the Web to a global internet-native payment network.
